Workflow

Artwork process provides two workflows tailored to packaging production needs. We can work with templates or without them.

If productivity is the goal, the best option is to work from a template where the design, the printer’s die-cut, and text boxes are already available for management. If we want to develop a new design to later apply it to a new product range, it’s easier to develop the project without a template. Once we have the ‘Master’ design, if needed, it can be converted into a template and applied to an entire product range. In our workflow, we manage: task delivery calendar, templates, texts, translations, designs, PDF comparators, design versions, final art validation, printing, and storage of printed designs: sorted by brand, product, date, etc.

Templates

A template is a foundational design that includes the printer’s die-cut, colors, design, and text strings.

Templates streamline coordination and prevent errors: we can potentially save over 60% in production. Templates can be cloned for use in other products.

In the pharmaceutical sector, a template for a 70x30x105 box can be used for Ibuprofen, Paracetamol, or Acetylsalicylic Acid.

We can create templates to cover an entire range of products in sectors such as cosmetics, food, games, electronics, etc.

Text management

Artwork process places significant importance on text management. We know that through this management, we can avoid coordination errors.

Having the certainty that the texts are correct before starting saves time in the design production. All texts are sent to the most competent professional: translators, copywriters, spelling correctors, or any other profile considered necessary.

When the texts are ready, the designer downloads them and imports them into the design. We avoid cut-and-paste, and the designer writing a text.

Alphabets

You can work with various alphabets: Chinese, Arabic, Greek, Russian… and import them into our template or design without any problem.

Translation ease

From text management, we can select a text string as the original, and the translator can start translating it.

Text Cloning

We can easily clone a graphic design, so why not clone the text? Artwork Process allows you to clone the texts of already printed artworks. This tool enables easy redesign or versioning of a packaging.

Creation/Correction of texts

We can manage a text string from our design or template, sending it to the most suitable professional: a translator, a chemist, regulatory specialist, nutritionist, copywriter, spelling, or grammar corrector… Each text string has its own messaging system to address any questions the professional may have.

Workgroups

On the platform, we can create workgroups for each of the tasks we want to perform, for example, ‘Translation from English to Finnish.’ These workgroups are related to each brand and its products.

Workgroup Switch

A practical example: within our organization, we may find good professionals who may not have strong writing skills. Once we have a base text, we can send it to a professional to correct spelling and grammar.

Design management

During the final art creation process, several versions of the same design may be created. Quickly and visually, we can determine the latest version uploaded to the platform, and we have the ability to share it with other departments within our organization: export, marketing, product managers… And our clients can access the design.

To check if the changes have been made correctly, the coordinator can compare different versions of the design; one version of the design with a PDF or alternatively, two PDFs.

When we have the finished design, with just one click, we can send it for validation by all our collaborators or send it for printing.

Validations

A good design is the collective work of several professionals: translators, text correctors, designers, clients… In Artwork process, we have the ability to invite our collaborators to validate if their task is correct before sending it to print.

If the validation process is correct, we can proceed with print management. Otherwise, we would go back to managing the design to finish correcting errors.

Printing

Throughout the creation process, design versions, and final art have not left the collaborative platform; there has been no need to send any email with the final art to our collaborators, and all management has been done within the platform.

The printer only needs to access the platform and download the final art for printing with the assurance that it is correct.

Document management

Once printing is completed, the coordinator, with a single click, sends the final artwork to document management, where it is organized by market/brand/product/qualification or dosage/packaging.

User profiles

Each profile has all the tools to comfortably carry out their assigned tasks. Share and collaborate without limits.
